Located along the Via Francigena, the Via Francisca and on the banks of the Ticino River, Pavia has its origins in the Gallic tribes, and over the centuries, has been crossed by peoples and cultures, whose testimonies are visible in the remarkable artistic heritage. Its territory is characterized by the beauty of its landscape and architecture, including castles, fortresses, suggestive villages and Romanesque churches. The Via Francigena winds through villages, waterways and rice fields, like a journey of time  suggestions to travel and discover. The 126.7 kilometers long Pavia stretch, is one of the most spectacular stages of the way, and is a candidate to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
