A city with a thousand-year history, it houses two sites declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO: the Botanical Garden and the Fourteenth-century Frescoed Cycles. One of the wonders preserved in the historic center of Padua is undoubtedly the Botanical Garden. Created in 1545, it is the oldest in the Western world that still retains its initial shape and location and gained UNESCO recognition in 1997. The site of the Fourteenth Century Frescoed Cycles was registered in 2021 and consists of 8 monumental complexes including religious and civil buildings, located within the historic walled city, which house frescoes painted between 1302 and 1397, including the cycle of Giotto’s Scrovegni Chapel.
